Pharmacy Technician National Tutoring Program
Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician National Tutoring Program is to develop youth from all backgrounds with the knowledge of the pharmacy industry. The purpose is to expose youth to opportunities beyond the immediate so that their creativity can see the possibilities.
Mission
The Pharmacy Technician National Tutoring Program has a mission to prepare students with the educational tools to be productive team members in healthcare focused in the area of pharmacy. The program seeks to develop students into healthcare team members that will serve the health, welfare, and safety of the public.
What is a Pharmacy Technician?
Pharmacy technicians are healthcare team members working in the pharmacy profession. They perform pharmacy related duties working under the direct supervision of a licensed, pharmacist to provide patients with care in the profession of pharmacy.
Requirements to Become a Pharmacy Technician:
Although Pharmacy is universal in its application, requirements are state
specific to work as a pharmacy technician.
Students will be educated as a pharmacy technician capable to be able to be an efficient technician in every state. Students will be assisted in addressing state specific requirements to enable the student to become employed in the state the student desires employment.
*Most classes will be online by zoom. In-person instruction will be done as needed.
